Transitions - A Personal Biography of Logan A.E. Vaine

I don't need the hands of god, in fact I don't need much. A tasty beverage and a
bit of inspiration: the main ingredients for my art. I mean a 3am adventure into a blank canvas
calls for some kind of pick me up. I cannot think of one good reason why I would do such an
absurd thing. Love, hate, pain, passion, freedom, addiction, it's all in the same melting pot,
I just choose to throw it on a canvas and I've been doing it since I can remember.

I'm 21, and my name is Logan Vaine. My history resides in a small town (not so small anymore)
in Cochrane, Alberta. This is where I developed and experienced my ability as an artist,
from scribbles to hakuna matata, Cochrane is where it began.

I found myself wandering for miles along side dangers and unknown territories only to
find that sense of comfort I felt when the world would open up to me. When every little thing was
new and beautiful, when the veins of a dead left floating down the river bank was intriguing,
and fantasy could effortlessly turn me into the ladybug hitching a ride aboard the S.S. Deadleaf.
This was the start of the realization of my artistic outlook on life (my right brained thinking).

I then, after these few years of discovery, moved to the city (Red Deer) where I began to
lose sight of the beauty that life offers. The fast paces environment seemed to keep me distracted
and everything else seemed to fill my plate. Puberty, Eduction, Religion, and my Media were at
my door step every day with old cliches and propaganda to swell up my head.
So I moved to Calgary where I thought the mountains would be my relief.
I worked as a tattoo artist and the city began to drag me even further down and my workmanship
began to look false and uninspired. Soon I found myself plotting a course for the
short road ahead, in the small village of Alix where the quiet inspires my creativity.
